Zion Market Research has published a new report titled “Organic Beef Meat Market: by Type (Fresh Meat and Processed Meat) and by Sales (Direct Sales and Indirect Sales): Global Industry Perspective, Comprehensive Analysis, and Forecast, 2018 - 2026.” According to the report, the organic beef meat market is expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.4% between 2019 and 2026.
There has been increasing consumer preference towards organic foods owing to their optimum nutritional benefits. According to a study published in the Nutrition Journal, high consumption of omega-3 fatty acids is typically associated with a lower incidence of depression, a decreased prevalence of age-related memory loss and a lower risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Furthermore, it has been observed that organic meat sales rose by 140% from 2004 to 2006. Organic meat production is governed by USDA’s national organic standards which were implemented in 2002. These standards state that animals must be raised using organic management practices and that organically-raised livestock must be separated from their conventional counterparts. In 2016, there were 2.3 million acres of organic certified rangeland and more than 46,000 organically-certified beef cows. The price of organic beef averaged US$ 7.97 in the first quarter of 2017 which represented a premium of 67 percent over conventional. Such premiums are the result of consumer demand as well as the additional costs of producing organic beef. Organically produced beef is available in some retail grocery stores, specialty meat outlets, farmers’ markets, and online channels. The movement of products across state lines, however, requires that meat must be processed at a USDA-inspected facility. Easy availability of organic beef meats through retail chains is expected to propel the market growth in the forecast timeframe.

Based on type, the global organic beef meat market has been classified into fresh meat and processed meat. The processed meat segment is further segregated into ground beef, steak beef, chucks, patty, and others. The ground beef segment is expected to gain traction over the forecast period in terms of value. Ground Beef is beef’s most versatile item. Ground Beef remains an important staple food in western countries, especially in the U.S. Eventually; shoppers continue to purchase this versatile, tasty and affordable product over half the time. Retailers sell multiple forms, pack sizes, and types to meet a plethora of consumer needs and occasions. Ground Beef’s share of total retail meat department beef pound sales soars around 45-50%. However, tight supplies and higher prices drove this share to 52% in 2015.
Based on the sales channel, the global organic beet meat market is divided into direct sales and indirect sales. The direct sales channel segment is expected to account for the largest market share in terms of revenue. A variety of markets were used by the value-added beef producers. Although most producers were selling through more than one market type, a couple of producers sold almost exclusively from their farms and a single producer sold primarily to a restaurant. It has been observed that on-farm sales were conducted by most producers because this method minimized producers’ time invested in selling beef. Among 10 producers selling from the farm, two sold only live animals in half or quarter shares rather than individual beef cuts. Some producers used other market opportunities, such as farmers' markets, to build a customer base and then transitioned these customers to direct from-the-farm buyers.
Some key players in operating in the cannabis concentrate market are Blackwood Valley Beef, JBS Global, Danish Crown, Meyer Natural Foods, Perdue Farms, OBE Organic, Tyson Foods Inc., Australian Organic Meats Group Pvt. Ltd., Arcadian Organic & Natural Meat Co. Pvt. Ltd. Eversfield Organic Ltd., and Verde Farms, LLC.
